What Does the Process Feel Like?
We’ll be real with you: it’s a process. A beautiful one, but a process nonetheless. It usually takes two or three visits spread over a few weeks.
First, we’ll sit down and talk through your goals. Dr. Margaret will examine your teeth, discuss what’s possible, and sometimes show you a digital preview of what your smile could look like. That way, there are no surprises.
On the day of preparation, we gently reshape the front surface of your teeth, just enough to make room for the veneers. Then we take impressions and place temporary restorations so you can leave looking and feeling like yourself.
A couple weeks later, you come back. We remove the temporaries, check the fit and color of your new veneers, and bond them in place. And that’s it. You could walk out with a smile that’s been years in the making.
Are Veneers Permanent?
This is the question we get most often, and it’s a fair one. The answer is yes, and no.
Once you choose veneers, you’ll always need some form of restoration on those teeth. But with proper care, good brushing, regular checkups, and maybe a nightguard if you grind, porcelain veneers can last a decade or more. Many of our patients enjoy theirs for 15 to 20 years before even thinking about replacements.
